Right now HankRing is a framework that needs early adopters with a hankering for good food and drink to add their favorite finds so that future users can benefit.
I've added over 5,000 curated spots so the first search isn't a blank screen, but right now ratings from passionate users who actually sat down and ate the food are few. This app was built for a community that hasn't arrived yet, and you are among the first through the door.
There will be bugs. I am a solo developer, and pioneering users will undoubtedly find things I missed. There's a feedback form right in the app, and I will be reading it and responding to you. I can promise nothing you send gets ignored.
Most apps are built to be understood in ten seconds, and they get there by limiting your choices. I went the other direction. I built this for people who are keen to explore and want more control. Filters can reshape search results. You can tune search terms to improve how the app hunts for a dish when a first pass comes up short. Some of these capabilities you'll find on day one. Some you'll stumble onto in week three. Some you may suggest to me and see implemented in future updates.
Expect a learning curve, and let your curiosity be your guide. Tap on things and see what happens. There's a guide when you want one, but the people this was built for have never needed much encouragement to explore. Finding the thing everyone else walked past is the essence of HankRing. I built this for people like me who would rather discover and remember the dishes they love than scroll through long-winded reviews about decor and service.
Here's what's in it for you as an early user. Your journal of favorite foods and places is your own private record of what you loved and where to find it again. Every entry you make is a new brick, building a HankRing that gets more useful every month, and the people who show up next year will be standing on what you built. I don't take that lightly, and I intend to reward the early adopters who make the greatest contributions with free lifetime access to the app's extended features when they arrive.
So, thank you again for your curiosity and passion. We are at the beginning of HankRing and I am excited to see what it becomes with your input.
